How to solve

Integration undoes differentiation. For powers, raise the exponent by one and divide by the new exponent: ∫ xⁿ dx = xⁿ⁺¹/(n+1) (n ≠ −1). Constants factor out; these drills omit +C.

Steps

  1. Increase the exponent by 1 and divide by the new exponent.
  2. Carry any constant coefficient through the integral.
  3. Omit +C as instructed by the drill.

Example

Find ∫ 3x² dx (omit +C).

  1. ∫ 3x² dx = 3 · x³/3 = x³.

Answer: x^3
