How to solve
A graph is a picture of input→output. The y-intercept is where x = 0; other labeled points tell you f at that x.
Steps
- For a y-intercept, look where the curve meets the y-axis.
- For a marked point, read its y-coordinate (height).
Example
A parabola crosses the y-axis at (0, −2).
- The y-intercept is −2.
Answer: -2
